Products get Panda Friendly label
The world’s first Panda Friendly Certification was co-released by World Wide Fund for Nature and Shenzhen-based One Planet Fund on Oct 26 in Chengdu, Southwest China’s Sichuan province, a place renowned for its panda sanctuaries. The certification aims to help the public choose panda-friendly products, highlighting goods that are made in a known panda area, are environmentally friendly, and help contribute to panda protection. the China Women’s Development Foundation and China Fortune Media Group of Xinhua News Agency. The launch ceremony was followed by a series of reading events. Guest speaker Fang Yue, a host at China Fortune, and Li Yuexia, a reporter from CCTV, shared their reading experiences with local students. The launch ceremony of a senior care project called House Renovation for the Elderly was held on Oct 25 by the China Women’s Development Foundation. The project provides senior people with charitable house renovation services, helping to make their living environment more suitable to their health needs. The project will first operate in Wuhan, Ningbo, Xi’an and Chengdu, and offer renovation services valued at 2,000 yuan ($287) to each senior person involved. The project hopes to attract further funding and expand to more cities.
