Prod­ucts get Panda Friendly la­bel

The world’s first Panda Friendly Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion was co-re­leased by World Wide Fund for Na­ture and Shen­zhen-based One Planet Fund on Oct 26 in Chengdu, South­west China’s Sichuan prov­ince, a place renowned for its panda sanc­tu­ar­ies. The cer­ti­fi­ca­tion aims to help the pub­lic choose panda-friendly prod­ucts, high­light­ing goods that are made in a known panda area, are en­vi­ron­men­tally friendly, and help con­trib­ute to panda pro­tec­tion. the China Women’s De­vel­op­ment Foun­da­tion and China For­tune Me­dia Group of Xin­hua News Agency. The launch cer­e­mony was fol­lowed by a se­ries of read­ing events. Guest speaker Fang Yue, a host at China For­tune, and Li Yuexia, a re­porter from CCTV, shared their read­ing ex­pe­ri­ences with lo­cal stu­dents. The launch cer­e­mony of a se­nior care project called House Ren­o­va­tion for the El­derly was held on Oct 25 by the China Women’s De­vel­op­ment Foun­da­tion. The project pro­vides se­nior peo­ple with char­i­ta­ble house ren­o­va­tion ser­vices, help­ing to make their liv­ing en­vi­ron­ment more suit­able to their health needs. The project will first op­er­ate in Wuhan, Ningbo, Xi’an and Chengdu, and of­fer ren­o­va­tion ser­vices val­ued at 2,000 yuan ($287) to each se­nior per­son in­volved. The project hopes to at­tract fur­ther fund­ing and ex­pand to more cities.
