Falling dog lands residents in court

-

A pedestrian who was knocked unconscious by a falling dog in Guangzhou has filed a lawsuit against the 10 households living in the building she was walking past at the time of the incident. A public hearing into the case was held at Baiyun District People’s Court on Nov 23. In her lawsuit, Zhang Ping, 47, said she was seriously injured when a large dog fell or was thrown from the apartment block on April 15. She collapsed at the scene and woke up in the hospital, where she ran up more than 400,000 yuan ($58,335) in medical bills. All of the defendants have denied owning the dog, which has not been seen since it ran off shortly after hitting Zhang. A verdict is pending.
