Lo­gis­tics firm ups ship­ping rates

US lo­gis­tics gi­ant United Par­cel Ser­vice an­nounced on Wed­nes­day that it would raise its rates on Dec 26, fol­low­ing other ma­jor peer play­ers such as FedEx and the United States Postal Ser­vice. For pack­ages, the At­lanta, Ge­or­gia-based com­pany said that the rates for UPS Ground, UPS Air and In­ter­na­tional ser­vices would in­crease by an av­er­age of 4.9 per­cent. UPS would also put a higher price on its air­lift ser­vice within and be­tween the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico at the same time. As a re­sult, rates for UPS Air Freight would be 4.9 per­cent higher.
