7 killed, 1 hurt in heavy storm

Seven people were killed and one injured when a downpour hit Dingxi’s Minxian county on Wednesday afternoon and caused flash flooding, local authorities said on Thursday. Heavy rain and hail hit the county from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday. Six townships were affected, authorities said. The injured person has been hospitalized and is in stable condition.
