Chemical industry warns of rising risks
German chemicals producers are increasingly concerned about risks stemming from growing trade conflicts, the United Kingdom’s impending exit from the European Union, as well as tensions in the Middle East despite strong performance in the first quarter of 2018, warned a report published on Wednesday by the Association of the Chemicals Industry. The report highlighted that gross revenue in the companies it represents grew 5.7 percent year-on-year, reaching a total of 51.1 billion euros ($43.3 billion) in the first quarter of this year. At the same time, output increased by 6.7 percent on an annual basis.
