Three Chinese crude drug manufacturers were fined heavily on Thursday for violating anti-monopoly rules. The authorities imposed fines totaling 12.8 million yuan ($1.87 million), including the confiscation of illegal income, on three producers of glacial acetic acid, a crude drug used in hemodialysis, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in an online statement. The penalty came after a monthslong investigation by the administration, which found the three companies had violated China’s antimonopoly rules.
