Mining company accounts frozen
Six people from Baiji Mining Co have been detained and the company’s bank accounts were frozen on Monday after 21 miners died in a collapse at a coal mine in Shenmu, Shaanxi province, on Saturday, the local police authority said. A legal representative for Baiji Mining Co, which operates the coal mine in Shenmu, its head and four other associates have been criminally detained, according to the Shenmu police. An investigation of the cause is continuing.
