High­est pi­ano con­cert in Hi­malayan

Ear­lier this month, Evelina De Lain set a world record for the high­est clas­si­cal con­cert when she played a grand pi­ano at an al­ti­tude of 5,000 me­ters in the Hi­malayas. She per­formed Chopin’s Noc­turnes No 2 in E

flat ma­jor and No 20 in C sharp mi­nor dur­ing the 90-minute high-al­ti­tude per­for­mance. The 41-year-old mu­si­cian lost the abil­ity to move her hands prop­erly 14 years ago as a re­sult of repet­i­tive strain in­jury. How­ever, after an in­ten­sive ther­apy, she has re­gained much of her for­mer dex­ter­ity.
