Foreign visitors to Beijing increasing

Beijing saw more than 4 million arrivals of overseas tourists last year, up 2 percent year-on-year, according to the local statistics bureau. The United States and Japan were the two major sources of overseas tourists in Beijing, which saw 720,000 visits from the US and 249,000 from Japan. The capital plans to further promote one-day tours, improve the 144-hour visa-free entry policy, and offer tax refunds to attract more foreign visitors, according to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development.
