Healthcare companies fined 57 million yuan
About 1,300 cases were filed and 57 million yuan ($8.4 million) in fines were handed to companies from Jan 8 to 30 in China’s campaign against illegal operations in the healthcare products market, State market regulation authorities said on Wednesday. The 100day campaign was jointly launched by 13 central government agencies following a series of media reports exposing irregularities in the industry. Authorities revoked 43 business licenses, broke up 70 workshops for producing and selling fake goods and sent 55 cases to prosecutors.
