Train speeds up to send sick boy to hospital

A 5-year-old boy who suddenly fell ill on a train was quickly sent to the hospital after the train went beyond its usual speed limit in Zhuzhou on Jan 25. Zhang Hongjun, the chief conductor of K457 train, which departed from Zhengzhou in Henan province to Haikou in Hainan province, immediatel­y contacted the control center for help after receiving a report that a boy on board the train had a high fever and needed urgent treatment. After getting permission from the control center, Zhang operated the train at a speed above its usual limit. This resulted in the train arriving at Zhuzhou station seven minutes ahead of schedule, and the boy was sent to hospital shortly after.
