FDI rises by 4.8% to $12.4b in January
Foreign direct investment into China rose by 4.8 percent in January to 84.18 billion yuan ($12.41 billion), according to Gao Feng, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday. China’s high-tech service industry saw a substantial increase in the use of foreign capital in the first month of 2019, up 113.4 percent year-on-year. FDI worth 26.7 billion yuan went into the manufacturing sector, up 5 percent year-on-year. Investment from the United States grew by 124.6 percent year-on-year in January.
