Re­spect to Cinema

April 15, Bei­jing: Chi­nese-amer­i­can singer and ac­tor LeeHom Wang and his team pay re­spect to Chi­nese films and film­mak­ers on the red car­pet be­fore the open­ing cer­e­mony of the 8th Bei­jing In­ter­na­tional Film Fes­ti­val (BJIFF).

The 8th an­nual BJIFF com­menced that day at the Yanqi Lake In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion and Exhibition Cen­ter. Dur­ing the week-long fes­ti­val from April 15 to 22, a to­tal of 328 films were screened and nearly 100 re­lated events were held in Bei­jing.

A to­tal of 15 films, se­lected from over 650 sub­mis­sions from 71 coun­tries and re­gions, were short­listed for the Tiantan Award, the high­est awards at the fes­ti­val, in­clud­ing do­mes­tic pro­duc­tions Hold Your

Hands and Op­er­a­tion Red Sea.
