New Directions: Musquiqui Chihying

This exhibition features a recent series of work by Taiwanese artist Musquiqui Chihying ,“I’ ll Be Back ,” commprised of The cultural center, The guestbook, Themas ksk and Thes culpture . These works have their roots in the artist’s sustained engagement with the history of Sino-afrifrican interactions from Ming-dynasty (1368-1644) explorer er Zheng He’s voyage to what is now Kenya to late Chinese e Premier Zhou Enlai’s diplomatic visits to 10 African states tes that had just been decolonized. Through these cases, the e artist seeks to look at reality through history.
Musquiqui Chihying was born in 1985 in Taiwan, China hina and lives and works in Taipei and Berlin, after graduating g from the Berlin University of the Arts. He has held many y solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions in China and Germany.
