The­atri­cal Vi­tal­ity in An­cient Town

Oc­to­ber 19, Tongx­i­ang, Zhe­jiang Prov­ince: A mu­si­cian in­ter­acts with tourists on an old street dur­ing the Wuzhen The­ater Fes­ti­val in the his­tor­i­cal wa­ter town. The sixth Wuzhen The­ater Fes­ti­val kicked off on Oc­to­ber 18 and lasted 11 days. The­ater artists from 17 coun­tries and re­gions staged var­i­ous per­for­mances for the­ater en­thu­si­asts and tourists.

Co-founded by sev­eral Chi­nese ac­tors and di­rec­tors, the fes­ti­val has be­come a cul­tural icon of Wuzhen, a 1,300-year- old wa­ter town. By stag­ing var­i­ous kinds of per­for­mances, the Wuzhen The­ater Fes­ti­val has in­jected vi­tal­ity into the town by at­tract­ing artists, per­form­ers and spec­ta­tors from across China and be­yond.
