UN Peacekeeping Force Winner
Zhang Qin, a Chinese female soldier in UN peacekeeping mission in Juba, capital of South Sudan, was awarded the “Peace Medal of Honor,” the highest honor of the UN peacekeeping force, along with her comrades in arms, by the UN officials on October 4 for their contributions to maintaining peace in South Sudan during the past year.
Zhang Qin studied in Chengdu University in southwest China’s Sichuan Province and majored in radio and television before enlisting. She always wanted to join the army and was enlisted during her sophomore in 2013. She is proficient in shooting, climbing and other military skills, and is also fluent in English, Arabic and Japanese.
