Sanqing Mountain
Known as “the top peak and the best place in the world,” Sanqing Mountain is a great travel destination with high scientific and aesthetic values. Sanqing means the “Three Pure Ones” in Chinese as the mountain is made up of three main summits: Yujing, Yushui and Yuhua, representing the Taoist trinity.
Sanqing Mountain’s remarkable granite rock formations make it an outstanding natural museum and a worthy geomorphologic textbook. The layout of the landscape is dangerous in the east, odd in the west, unique in the south, and beautiful in the north. Meanwhile, it provides a natural laboratory for studying the controlling factors and evolutional processes of this kind of unique granite landscape. The mountain boasts a particularly high biodiversity. There are 2,373 species of higher plant and 1,728 species of wild animals, forming the most diversified ecological environment in East Asia.
Sanqing Mountain also exhibits outstanding qualities of a granite mountain in perfect harmony with its ecosystem providing substantial scientific integrity as well as unique aesthetic, artistic and protective values. This national park displays a unique array of forested, fantastically shaped granite pillars and peaks concentrated in a relatively small area. Besides, Sanqing Mountain is an eternal famous mountain with not only 1 billion years of natural evolutionary history, but also a typical model of harmonious coexistence between man and nature for 1,600 years. There are a lot of old architecture and Taoist relics, including 48 oddshaped peaks, 52 strange stones and more than 500 landscapes. Sanqing Mountain presents a stunning array of natural beauty combining primeval landscapes and pristine flora. Few, if any, other world sites can rival it in terms of the grandeur and majesty of Mother Nature. It is a special and beautiful place, not only for China, but also for the world.
