For children, whether it is a foreign festival or a traditional Chinese festival, the key is to learn values. Every festival has a cultural background. Christmas, for instance, is a religious holiday in the West. It is closely related to the themes of family reunion, expressing gratitude for charity and helping others.

Christmas is closely related to the themes of family reunion, expressing gratitude for charity and helping others.

If a kindergarten in China holds Christmas-related activities, it will be a kind of introduction of other cultures in the world. That is to say, it is ok to celebrate foreign festivals, which could expand the knowledge and experiences of preschool children. But, at the same time, we should also pay more attention to the inheritance of our own cultural traditions, and the cultural and spiritual values need to be stressed by educators.

China itself has many traditional festivals, but now with the social development and continuous cultural exchanges, the youth of my age like Halloween and Christmas, but pay less attention to our own Dragon Boat Festival, Lantern Festival and other traditional festivals. I don’t like this trend. In my opinion, it’s better to treat our parents with filial respect at home first in terms of being grateful.

We have to admit that cultural exchange is very important to us. But when foreign cultures gradually squeeze our traditional culture and become more popular, it is time for us to protect and inherit our own culture.

In the 21st century, we are embracing the world and pursuing more trends and cultures, but we cannot forget that we are Chinese at all times. We have the responsibility to carry forward and inherit the fine traditional culture of China.

businesses make use of this trend to hype up some foreign festivals and seek profits, making them popular in China.

Traditional Chinese festivals carry China’s 5,000 years of history. If we cannot inherit and develop our own traditional culture, how can it be respected by others? We can be inclusive toward other cultures, but the prerequisite is that we must pay more attention to our own festivals and traditions.

I personally feel that businesses are making Christmas overwhelmingly popular among the Chinese people. When Christmas approaches, they use different strategies to draw people’s attention. Especially for young people, if they don’t celebrate Christmas, they might feel they are not fashionable. Chinese traditional festivals bear the history and culture of China. In the 21st century, we are embracing the world and pursuing more trends and cultures, but we cannot forget that we are Chinese at all times. We have the responsibility to carry forward and inherit the fine traditional culture of China.

We should be solemnly aware that only when we respect our own festivals and inherit them well, can we really appreciate foreign festivals. CA
