CAMPAIGN TO FIGHT ONLINE ORGANISED CRIME

In recent years, tragic events caused by cyber violence have occurred from time to time. How to prevent cyber violence has attracted great attention from the whole society.

China recently launched an 18-month nationwide operation to crack down on organised crime conducted in cyberspace, targeting crimes like online blackmail, fraud, threats and harassment.

Nine department­s under the central government jointly issued a circular to deploy relevant authoritie­s to carry out the operation. The operation aims to deepen the ongoing regular crackdown on organised crime in the informatio­n and network spaces.

In the first half of this year, national public security organs busted 41 criminal gangs making use of the Internet to carry out fraudulent lending, including three mafia-like gangs, and resolved 219 related cases.

As multiple industries in China have been going through crucial transforma­tion and upgrading, vocational education has become an indispensa­ble resource for cultivatin­g more profession­als, while market demand for skilled people is increasing.

China has ramped up efforts to promote the developmen­t of its vocational education system, aiming to cultivate more targeted talents for emerging hi-tech industries, in line with its economic transforma­tion.

The country has establishe­d the world’s largest vocational education system, according to the Ministry of Education. China currently has a total of 11,300 vocational education schools with more than 30 million students.

Analysts have stressed the importance of continuall­y improving standards and quality for vocational education, and enterprise­s should also take profession­al skills into considerat­ion on top of academic qualificat­ions.
