Characteristics and Thematic Clustering of Articles in the Field of Preventive Treatment of Diseases of TCM Based on CNKI

Abstract: Objective To analyze the characteristics and thematic clustering of TCM core journals in the field of preventive treatment of diseases. Methods Using CNKI as a statistical source, the number of papers, journals, authors, institutions, topic hotspots of papers in the field of preventive treatment of diseases published by Chinese core journals of TCM (eighth edition of 2017) before 5th November of 2018 were under statistical analysis by using bibliometrics methods and Citespace 5.3.R4 software. Results A total of 411 papers in the field of t preventive treatment of diseases in the TCM core journals were retrieved. The number of papers has increased since 2006 and reached a peak of 43 in 2017. The number of papers published in the top five TCM core journals accounted for 71.53% (294/411) of the total number of papers published; the number of authors with more than two papers was 110; totally 58 papers (14.11%) were published by the top 5 institutions. The hotspots clustering of papers formed four clusters: the theory and thought research on preventive treatment of diseases, the related research on preventive treatment of diseases in preventive medicine, the research on
preventive treatment of diseases in diabetes mellitus and pre-diabetes stage, and the related research on preventive treatment of diseases in health management. According to the results of highlighted words and time zone maps of key words, the main new hotspots in the papers were health management through preventive treatment of diseases, prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and so on. Conclusion The journals in the field of preventive treatment of diseases are relatively concentrated; the authors are scattered; there is a certain cooperative relationship among the institutions; the overall cooperation is not close. The new hotspots are mainly in health management and prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
