Results A comparative analysis was made on the organization departments, time, sessions, theme names, propaganda methods and project contents of the activities of reading day in 24 libraries of TCM colleges and universities. It was found that the sessions of the activities were quite different, with relatively similar time, distinct themes and rich project contents.
Conclusion In order to make reading cultural activities play a greater role in TCM colleges and universities, it is suggested to set up activity working groups to strengthen the continuity of the activities. The contents of the activities should be combined with college students’ professional development, ability improvement and hobbies, and the concept of brand should be introduced.
