“Shooting our first short film on a micro budget 80 kilometers inside the Arctic Circle was always going to be interesting,” says journalist and film producer Langenheim about his monthlong stay in Norway’s remote Lofoten Islands last summer. “In retrospect, it was a bit of a bonkers undertaking and we only pulled it off by enlisting the voluntary services of half of Stamsund, the fishing village where we were based. Yet the experience also yielded a good travel story. Our location was spectacular and home to generations of cod fishers and whale hunters, assorted bohemian types, and a burgeoning tourism industry. I would recommend this archipelago for anyone’s bucket list.”
