Re­wards Pro­grams Cathay Pa­cific

The lat­est up­dates to Cathay’s Asia Miles re­wards pro­gram al­lows for greater earn­ings on 80 per­cent of all tick­ets, with those trav­el­ing from Hong Kong to Syd­ney in econ­omy earn­ing twice as many points. The num­ber of re­deemable seats has also risen by at least 20 per­cent on all sec­tors, and all flight awards have been set as one-way for even greater flex­i­bil­ity. For fre­quent fliers be­tween Sin­ga­pore and Hong Kong, a round-trip re­demp­tion book­ing will re­quire a third fewer miles than be­fore ( cathay­pa­cific.com). New Air­craft Philip­pine Air­lines As part of an am­bi­tious fleet re­newal pro­gram, Philip­pine Air­lines re­cently in­tro­duced a brand-new Air­bus A321­neo with busi­ness-class seats that con­vert to fully flat two-me­ter beds. The jet has now been de­ployed on the car­rier’s Manila– Bris­bane route, mak­ing it the first nar­row­body flight to Aus­tralia with fully flat seats in busi­ness class. 20 more A321­neos will even­tu­ally serve other routes through­out the Asia-Pa­cific re­gion, and Philip­pine Air­lines will also roll out the A350-900 on its long-haul ser­vices to New York in the mid­dle of the year, fol­lowed by Lon­don ( philip­pineair­lines.com).

Manila–Mel­bourne Cebu Pa­cific

Philip­pine Air­lines’ mo­nop­oly on this route will come to an end on Au­gust 14, when Cebu Pa­cific launches flights to its sec­ond Aus­tralian des­ti­na­tion. The low­cost air­line is sched­uled to fly the sev­en­hour trip on Tues­days, Thurs­days, and Satur­days ( ce­bu­paci­fi­cair.com).
