You can quite literally sleep with the fishes on your next Maldivian holiday. Come November, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island will be launching The Muraka ( conradmaldives.com), a split-level structure that allows guests to bed down in an underwater suite five meters below the ocean waves, separated from the deep blue by an acrylic vault that affords a 180-degree view of the house reef’s aquatic residents. There’s also an upper level replete with two additional bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, dining area and bar, plus a sunsetfacing deck and infinity pool. Of course, this all comes at a hefty price: the novelty will set you back an eye-watering US$60,000 a night.
