Photographed “Blueprint for Paradise,” “With their clear blue waters, pristine white sand, and some of the best sunsets you’ll ever see, the Andaman Islands are a perfect canvas for any artist,” says Mumbaibased photographer Anand of his third trip to the archipelago, which lies in the Bay of Bengal closer to Myanmar than to the Indian mainland. “Getting to the new Taj resort on Havelock Island involves multiple flights and boat rides, but it’s well worth it. The sight of towering, centuriesold trees made me feel like I was transported back in time, while the soothing music of the waves was as therapeutic as a spa treatment. I sincerely hope that any future development of the Andamans is done responsibly and ethically, so that future generations can enjoy the islands’ pristine beauty.”
