MAKING WAVES IN VIETNAM

- —JL

If you’ve ever floated the idea of a river cruise in Ho Chi Minh City, The Reverie Saigon’s 18-meter Monte Carlo yacht The Reverie ( thereveriesaigon.com) may be just the ticket. The Italian-built vessel is fitted with electronically controlled sun loungers and a Bluetooth-enabled outdoor sound system; an en-suite bedroom below deck suggests the possibility of overnight stays, but for now, The Reverie offers a trio of private excursions. These range from a 2.5hour sunset cruise to a five-hour jaunt to the Can Gio UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and for golfers, a full-day escapade to tee off at Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club. Cruises start at a hefty US$2,150, although that does include butler service, a champagne picnic for two (with a bottle of Louis Roederer), and round-trip transfers in a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or a BMW 7 series.
