DISCOVER THE RICH HERITAGE AND BEAUTY OF HANOI AT ONE OF SOUTHEAST ASIA’S MOST STORIED HOTELS.

Alandmark of the Vietnamese capital since 1901, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has long been a preferred meeting place for traveling playwrights, ambassadors, and heads of state.

The property is ideally located in the Old Quarter, a short stroll from key attractions such as the Hanoi Opera House, Temple of Literature, and the Vietnam National Museum of History. And there’s no denying the Metropole’s own historical value; it even has a bomb shelter built during the American War that was once used by Joan Baez and Jane Fonda. Guest tours of the on-site Path of History and bomb shelter are led by historians each day.

The hotel’s rich character and romantic charm are apparent in the 364 rooms, spread between the historic Metropole Wing — where three Legendary suites are named after famous visitors Graham Greene, Charlie Chaplin, and Somerset Maugham — and the contemporary Opera Wing. The latter features individually furnished rooms done in a neoclassical style, as well as the 176-square-meter Grand Prestige Suite, replete with a library and office, a private room for spa treatments, plus a dining area for eight people.

Spa-goers have much to look forward to. In a tranquil setting that overlooks the garden courtyard and pool, Le Spa du Metropole offers a range of treatments combining Asian beauty traditions and holistic rituals with contemporary Western therapies.

Dining is another highlight, thanks to the Metropole’s crop of six standout venues. Le Beaulieau has been serving classic French fare for more than 100 years, and is beloved for its extravagant Sunday brunch with live musical performances. Vietnamese specialties are the focus at Spices Garden, while PanEuropean cuisine stars on the menu at the Parisian inspired outdoor café La Terrasse. Elsewhere in the hotel, Le Club Bar beckons with its afternoon high tea and chocolate library, and the colonial-style poolside venue Bamboo Bar is just the spot for refreshing cocktails and light meals. The latest addition to the lineup is angelina, a cocktail bar, whisky lounge, and restaurant where bespoke cocktails, whiskies, and an impressive selection of wines are offered alongside innovative comfort food from Europe and the New World. Nowhere else can you drink in Hanoi’s beauty and a century of stories in such style.
