ANDREW GLENN
Wrote “Auckland on the Up,”
A Hong Kong native, Andrew is no stranger to the urban jungle, having spent years in Los Angeles, New York, and London. So his decision to move to Auckland’s idyllic Waiheke Island in 2011 represented a seismic lifestyle shift for him and his husband Jonathan. “When we realized we could gather clams right off the beach and make spaghetti alle vongole,
we were sold,” he says. “But it also helps that in the last decade, Auckland has really come of age, with an incredible food scene to really rival any international city. It’s all down to a multicultural population, a wealth of talented operators, and exceptional produce.” A frequent contributor to The New Zealand Herald
and other publications, Andrew started his career with a degree in journalism from New York University.
