Admire the new art in Sydney’s oldest neighborhood
Tucked down cobblestone alleys, transforming old sandstone walls, glittering overhead—art now surrounds visitors to The Rocks. Local curatorial agency Art Pharmacy was tasked to work with Sydney-based artists to inject color into this historic harborside neighborhood, and the results are five commissioned pieces created around the timely themes of revival and renewal. Pictured here is part of Barkindji artist Maddison Gibbs’ Spirits Make Noise, a series of striking blackand-white murals inspired by Aboriginal matriarchs.
