THE FULLERTON OCEAN PARK HOTEL HONG KONG

-

For a sophisticated seaside holiday on bustling Hong Kong Island, set your sights on The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel. Overlooking the scenic and historical Aberdeen District on the stunning South Side of the island, the city’s first sustainability minded luxury oceanfront resort is all about classy elegance and family-centric fun, backed by sumptuous food and a gamut of engaging activities as part of the hotel’s F.U.N. experiences.

The location alone is beguiling. Adjacent to two theme parks—ocean Park Hong Kong and Water World—in the Southside district, the coastal property is also within easy reach of picturesque Brick Hill, Ap Lei

Pai island, and the emerging community of art galleries in Wong Chuk Hang. It’s an intriguing setting that the resort makes good use of in its roster of F.U.N. experiences, which, as the acronym suggests, are oriented to Family-friendly, Unique, Nature and Neighborhood activities. From hopping on a sampan boat for a close-up look at Aberdeen’s traditional fishing village to abseiling down Brick Hill or joining a nighttime wildlife tour to discover Hong Kong’s rich biodiversity, these seasonal programs of heritage and nature excursions, artisan workshops, bespoke sports activities, and edu-tainment classes for kids unveil Southside’s hidden gems.

Of course, there are indulgences as well. Every one of the 425 rooms and suites inside the resort’s two curving glass towers features knockout views of the harbor and the expanse of the South China Sea beyond. Nine kid’s themed rooms include the Pirate Paradise Room, Hong Kong Safari Room, and Jurassic Submarine Room, while two ultraluxe rooftop suites come with private plunge pools and expansive terraces.

Downstairs, a choice of four restaurants ensures that guests are never short on culinary options. Foremost among them is Jade. Helmed by Michelin-starred executive chef Lai Ching-shing, this elegant Cantonese restaurant showcases locally and regionally sourced sustainable seafood in dishes like double-boiled fish soup and baked crab shell stuffed with fresh crabmeat and onion. On the same level, Satay Inn pays spicy homage to the Fullerton brand’s Singaporean roots with menu items such as chili crab and Hokkien prawn mee, while afternoon tea and cocktails are available at the Lighthouse Lounge.

And while the little ones are being entertained at the indoor kids’ zone or the kids’ lagoon situated next to the main infinity pool, grown-ups can partake in a range of treatments and products co-curated by British wellness brand Bamford at The Fullerton Spa. Like the rest of the property, this serene sanctuary comes with panoramic South China Sea views that will leave you swooning before you even hit the massage table.
