RISING PRECIPITOUSLY FROM the Wuling mountain range in Guizhou province, Fanjingshan (pictured) is one of China’s holiest mountains. Southern China’s mild winters mean February is perfect for pilgrims and adventurers to scale the 8,888 steps up the peace signshaped pinnacle to reach the two Buddhist temples teetering at the top.
