“They have no sense of moral at all. A company like this is very disappointing.”

Global Times – Metro Beijing - - WORD MATTERS -

So said a man surnamed Chen. Last Tuesday, Chen and his niece ordered steamed dumplings from Porridge Jiahe, a chain restaurant, through an online platform. As Chen was about to eat the dumplings, he found there were five cockroaches on them. Chen told the China Consumer News Saturday that he contacted the restaurant but had received no apologies at that time. Chen said that because it is a brand name catering company with hundreds of chain restaurants in Beijing, what they did will make the consumers sad and angry. In a reply the China Consumer News received from the restaurant, the company said that they had checked the video as well as other steamed dumplings in the restaurant around the time they received Chen’s complaint but found no other instances. In addition, when the related government department went to check the restaurant, they found no sign of cockroaches. The restaurant wants to clear its name and declined to give an apology, so Chen decided to sue. (Source: China Consumer News)
