The Curious Incident of the Dog in the

Night-Time produced by the Royal National Theatre of the UK, will be put on stage at SAIC·Shanghai Culture Square from May 9 to 20. By Simon Stephens and based on the novel of the same name by Mark Haddon, the story concerns a mystery 15-year-old teenager Christopher Boone who insist on investigating the death of a neighbor’s dog. Boone has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at math but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road. He detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that up-turns his world. The play has received a generally warm reception, with its cliff-hanging plot and the visual effects employed during the show. Most importantly, it is a story about love, courage, family and truth. At some point the audience may be struck a glimmer of sadness, but it is defused by humor interwoven into the plot, which creates a wonderful experience of relaxation and tension. Date: May 9 to 20, 2018, 2 pm/7:30 pm

Venue: SAIC·Shanghai Culture Square
