Global Times – Metro Shanghai - - PULSE -

In August, a professional skills competition and a youth innovation competition were held in Shanghai, thepaper.cn reported Monday.

Lu Yun, an official from Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, said that the two competitions have different objectives.

The industrial youth innovation competition aims to encourage outstanding innovative achievements, while the professional skills competition focuses on setting the stage for high-skilled young talents.

Through these two competitions, many excellent innovation projects entered into the public consciousness, and were promoted and popularized in the local markets.

For example, an invention which won the gold medal in 2017 (which can locate a malfunctioning cable within 1 second, down from 48 hours), has already been purchased and applied into industry use.
