Shanghai summer tourism up to 6.8 million

The number of visits paid by inbound and outbound tourists through Shanghai airports exceeded 6.8 million over the summer starting July 1, with over 130,000 visits per day, which reached a new high, eastday.com reported Sunday.

Noticeably, entry and exit ports in Shanghai received over 166,000 visits on July 23, renewing the single-day record.

In order to ensure safe and smooth passage at Shanghai airports, there are now 156 automated border clearance gates for passengers. A majority of Chinese and foreign passengers enjoyed the convenience of passing through the border clearance gate within 10 seconds.

Shanghai General Station of Immigration Inspection aims at creating a stable port environment by further improving port control and service level.
