Global Times – Metro Shanghai - - PULSE -

A new round of the three-year plan for Shanghai pre-school education will start in 2019, marking the arrival of the 2.0 era of the informatization in preschool education, Xinmin Evening News reported Thursday.

Currently, Shanghai has built up an application cluster which has assembled the information of local kindergartens and improved the management in these schools. Over 20 local kindergartens across the city have been involved in trials to explore innovations in information technologies concerning kindergarten management.

In these kindergartens, children live a digital life. For example, a tiny electronic card can be used as a door badge and help record the body temperature, dining and medical status of students. Children can also make electronic books by themselves.
