Holiday scam spots
Many tourist hot spots are getting ready for the National Day holiday surge when people go out with their families and spend a lot of time outdoors. A recent report from Zhangjiajie, a famous tourist scenic spot in Hunan Province, said that shops were selling products at sky-high prices. In most cases, the cost of the items was just 10 percent of the selling price. Local authorities pay less attention to shops selling items at exorbitant prices as they prioritize income from tourism. It is also a failure to protect the rights of visitors that will affect the image of the spot, thus affecting the local tourism sector in the long-run.
