Meet Impression­ism – Art exhibition

If there is one art movement that can be described as dreamy and romantic, and a French legacy, then Impression­ism would probably gets the most votes. This exhibition on Impression­ism in Shanghai is an exciting and comprehens­ive show displaying artworks created by respected painters such as Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, Paul Huet as well as the pioneering life observer Gustave Courbet.

The exhibition includes original artworks by 35 artists of the Barbizon School, briefly described as a group of artists who gathered around the Forest of Fontainebl­eau and promoted the idea of painting outside instead of in their studios.

The show does not just cater to art insiders, it also boasts an interactiv­e exhibition design that aims to engage more vistors in the art movement.

Little Planet Garden – Parent-child activity

This event will be a great chance to have fun with your children. The Little Planet Garden event is a playgroup with 10 sections featuring digital and interactiv­e designs that aims at developing children’s interests and understand­ing of technology through handson activities.

The project originated in Japan, and won the Kids Design Award, which honors designs that contribute to children’s mental and physical developmen­t, providing tools for them to better observe the world while

expanding their creativity.

The event will include a classic sandbox game design, which has been used in early intellectu­al education for children as well as in psychology to explore children’s mental developmen­t.

Hello! Raccoon Factory – Design event

This event is going to show off the characters designed by the Raccoon Factory, a trendy South Korean character designing brand. The exhibition will show visitors in China the different dolls, paintings, design sketches and tools the studio uses to make their characters. This is the Raccoon Factory’s first appearance in the Chinese mainland.

This exhibition features three characters – Starfy, Kwoni and DORI.

Starfy is a starfish with big ears, while Kwoni is a little girl figure who is shy and likes to spend time with her cat and painting. The character DORI is a young puppy who likes to take walks and sometimes feels frustrated at being constantly mistaken by people for a bear.

The show is a children-friendly event, so go ahead and bring the kids!
