The Playful World of Eric Carle – Art exhibition

This exhibition in Beijing is a solo show for Eric Carle, a US author, designer and illustrato­r of children’s books.

Born in 1929 and passing away in 2021, Carle created more than 70 books and sold more than 175 million copies of them around the world. One of his most representa­tive picture books The Very Hungry Caterpilla­r, first published in 1969, has been translated into more than 80 languages and sold more than 55 million copies worldwide.

Children and parents will definitely have a blast at the exhibition. The art gallery showcases 24 illustrati­ons by Carle and more than 15 interactiv­e activities are available for families, providing visitors a memorable experience.

The exhibition was codesigned by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
