The Surreal Dream World of Erik Johansson – Art exhibition
This exhibition in Beijing is a solo show for Swedish surrealist photographer Erik Johansson. This first solo show for the photographer in China is also the largest exhibition of his artworks in the world.
A total of 80 photos are on display at the exhibition, along with 32 texts and more than 10 videos revealing the making of his artworks.
Born in 1985, Johansson creates surreal images by combining photographic elements and other materials into surreal scenes, integrating reality and imagination.
Inspired by surrealist masters such as Salvador Dali, René Magritte and Maurits Cornelis Escher, Johansson’s works are full of imagination while still reflecting on reality.
Scenes in Johansson’s photos are recreated vividly at the exhibition, which allows visitors to walk into the artist’s surreal world.
