Alberto Peral: Two Times – Art exhibition

This exhibition in Shanghai is the first solo show for Spanish artist and sculptor Alberto Peral in Asia.

The exhibition is displaying 22 artworks created by the artist, most of which were made specially this year for the exhibition.

The artist attributes the inspiration for the works on display at the exhibition to various forms of cylinders, which can be seen as flat circles from one perspective but then become alive and fluid as the plane expands in three dimensions.

Peral specializes in using flat materials to make threedimensional objects, adding a sense of volume to seemingly light shapes.

According to Peral, he has always been interested in the relationship between art and viewers, so he focuses on the height his works are placed at and how viewers approach them.
