What’s in the freshman’s suitcase?

-

It’s the beginning of the school year again, and freshmen are anticipating their entrance to campus. But there is still a “big challenge” waiting for college students before school starts, that is, packing their bags. As an old Chinese saying goes, the parents are worried about their traveling children. Parents are always concerned that their children will be unable to care for themselves at school, so they will pack a wide range of items in their luggage. One or two large suitcases, plus a few large bags, are already commonplace. For some college freshmen, their luggage is a bit exaggerated and weird, with a one-meter-eight dressing mirror, two-meter potted plants, various hometown specialties, and even a large refrigerator. The increasingly bizarre luggage of college students is ultimately derived from the strong love of parents. But sometimes this love is too strong, and parents should do it in moderation, since college life after all is ultimately about cultivating students’ independence.
