Guest nations, intl groups to attend G20

Leaders of G20 members, guest countries and internatio­nal organizati­ons will attend the 11th Group of 20 ( G20) Summit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping from Sept 4- 5 in China’s eastern city of Hangzhou, a Foreign Ministry spokespers­on said Wednesday.

Lu Kang said aside from the G20 leaders of G20 members include Argentine President Mauricio Macri, Brazil’s president, French President Francois Hollande, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, South Korean President Park Geunhye, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, Russian President Vladimir Putin, South African President Jacob Zuma, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, US President Barack Obama, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, British Prime Minister Theresa May, European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean- Claude Juncker and Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Lu said the leaders of some guest countries include Chad’s President Idriss Deby Itno, Egyptian President Abdel- Fattah al- Sisi, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Laotian President Bounnhang Vorachit, Senegalese President Macky Sall, Singaporea­n Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan- ocha.

Lu said the leaders of internatio­nal organizati­ons include UN Secretary- General Ban Kimoon, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim and Internatio­nal Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde will arrive in Hangzhou to attend the Summit.
