The Chinese version of South Korean boy band iKON’s hit song “Love Scenario” debuted on Tencent’s streaming platform y.qq. com on Thursday.

In the love song, the band sings Chinese lyrics written by Chinese singer Hu Yanbin, while the rap portion is still performed in Korean.

Receiving more than 2,000 comments within a few hours of its debut, the song has been described as “a combination of well-written lyrics and beautiful melodies” by users on the site. The band’s Chinese pronunciation was also praised.

The band also released a behindthe-scenes video on Sina Weibo on Wednesday which shows how the group and Hu worked on the song together in the studio.

Audio clips of the song’s original version became a popular choice for background music for videos on China’s short video-sharing platform Tik Tok, known as Douyin in Chinese, after several videos featuring parts of the song as background music went viral on the platform.

The original version of “Love Scenario” immediately rose to the top of South Korean’s online music charts after its global debut in January and quickly became a hit in China later after topping local music charts for a consecutive four weeks.

The group released their debut studio album Welcome Back in 2015. Selling some 260,000 copies in Asia, the album went on to win several major Asian music awards.
