July economic statistics
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) will release economic data for July on Tuesday including industrial output and fixed-asset investment.
The NBS will also announce figures for industrial output, fixed-asset investment and retail sales from January to July.
China maintained 6.8 percent GDP growth from January to June, and above-scale industrial output grew 6.7 percent, according to the data released on July 16. Fixed-asset investment grew 6 percent, slowing by 0.1 percentage point from that during January to May.
Urban employment market
The NBS will announce the urban unemployment rate for July on Tuesday. China’s job market remained stable in June, with the unemployment rate at a relatively low level, the official data showed in July, according to the Xinhua News Agency.
Starting from April this year, the NBS has regularly released figures on monthly surveyed unemployment rates in urban areas to help the government improve macro-control and provide information for formulating employment policies, Xinhua said.
The unemployment rate in urban areas was 4.8 percent in June, unchanged from May.
World Robot Conference
The 3rd World Robot Conference, sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the China Association for Science and Technology, will be held in Beijing from Wednesday to Sunday.
The conference has attracted more than 300 industry representatives from countries such as the US, Russia, Germany and Japan.
