Beijing Performing Arts Group releases schedule for new performance season

-

The Beijing Performing Arts Group released the program list for their upcoming performance season in Beijing on Monday.

The new season will take real subjects as its theme and will feature six new works including a concert inspired by China’s 24 Solar Terms, Ode to Late Winter; original Pingju Opera Rainbow in Tibet and children’s play Children’s Folk Rhymes in Beijing.

According to director Wang Ze, the children’s play focuses on the story of how folk rhymes enable an old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s and her grandson reestablish a connection with each other.

Another work, light comedy Craftsmanship, uses the story of a common craftsman to depict the great changes that have taken place in China over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up.

The six plays will be staged at locations across the capital, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center and Erqi Theater, until January 17.
