“We will have to return to social distancing if we fail.”

Park Neung-hoo, South Korean health minister, saying that after the recent spike in new novel coronaviru­s infections, South Korea may be forced to reimpose an all-out social distancing campaign if the country sees more than 50 new cases for at least seven consecutiv­e days, quoted by AFP on Thursday.

“We’re living in a moment when national sentimenta­lity and displays of compassion are muted because the government doesn’t conceive itself as a first responder.”
