In textiles, luxury means different things to different people. It encompasses rich colours and materials – think jewel tones, plums and gold, and jacquard or velvet. But more and more, it’s also becoming synonymous with the rediscovery of traditional craftsmanship, as well as the time, care and intricate detail that goes into the process. While traditional crafts may be passed down through the generations, today it’s also about applying these techniques in modern and innovative ways.
Hailing from Bangkok, Thinkk Studio is one such design firm that’s reinterpreting craftsmanship with its products. Founded by Decha Archjananun and Ploypan Theerachai, the studio creates lampshades using a loom and thread; they were showcased at Heimtextil along
