There's no doubt that design has become an imporant ingredient in any restaurant, and these two new spots have interiors as sumptuous as their food. First, Japanese restaurant Okra in Sai Ying Pun launched an omakase-only sushi bar above the buzzing izakaya-style Okra Kitchen below. The pared-back interiors by designer Sean Dix form the ideal foil to chef Max Levy’s modern Japanese creations. Then, occupying the top of the V Tower in Causeway Bay is the new bar and grill Alto, with interiors by Design Research Studio, Tom Dixon’s architectural arm.
