TheT Tasting Room
ll eyes are on Cotai t hese days, with t he opening of Studio City—the celebritysaturated City of Dreams project that has roped i n the combined power of Robert de Niro, Martin Scorsese, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.
On an autumn visit t o The Tasting Room,om, about a month away from t he grand opening, ening, we could j ust see i n the distance the finall touches being put on t he i mposing building, a new glittering behemoth that will play host t o even more l uxury boutiboutiquesques, world-renowned restaurants, and all manner of gloss and glamour. Crown Towers, the sophisticated luxury hotel within which chef Guillaume Galliot’s restaurant resides, seemed positively demure i n comparison.
Now just over three years old, the restaurant has the air of a seasoned film star itself, confident in its presentation and the role it has to play. Staff move smoothly through the set, a dining room that is as pretty as a pearl with its dramatic ropeand-lightbulb centrepiece and soft, ocean-coloured furnishings.
